Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 35-year-old female who has been struggling with various health issues. I get tired easily, experience gas and bloating, and have tremendous mood swings. I have an 8-hour sitting job and a 4-year-old. I am really stressed as my daughter requires my attention full time, leaving no time for exercise or any physical activity. Lately, I have noticed that I get hunger pangs that make me crave junk food or any form of processed food. I admit I have started indulging in a lot of aerated drinks and packaged juice. I know they are bad, but I am not sure how to control these cravings. Can you please help and suggest how I can manage these urges and what would be the right nutritional substitute in such situations?
Hi,
We welcome you to icliniq family.
I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.
I understand your concern.
Regarding your symptoms, I propose that you have developed an acute stress syndrome that is affecting your nutritional status. The junk meals you are consuming are very harmful as they can lead to hypertension, diabetes, obesity, coronary heart disease, and stroke. My suggestions to control these unhealthy nutritional habits are a total cessation of junk meals. Replace them with healthy meals that include carbohydrates, protein foods, vitamins, and minerals. Consider seeking assistance from someone who can help prepare healthy meals in case of stress. Avoid consuming red meat and eggs; instead, opt for alternatives like cheese and chicken. Schedule another appointment for follow-up via chat, phone, or video consultation.
I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.
Thank you.
