Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old male. I do not have any health issues. I go to the gym regularly and I have been trying to build my muscles. I take protein shakes and supplements, but still, I am not able to build my deltoid muscle. Is there any specific exercise to improve my deltoid muscle and its strength too? Is there any specific diet to be followed?

Kindly help.

Hello doctor,

Welcome to icliniq.com

Doing workouts and having supplements is not enough you need to get answers to a few questions first.

  1. Have you got your body composition analysis done?
  2. How many days a week do you work out? Elaborate on your distribution of the routine throughout the week.
  3. Muscle gain happens all over the body. Particular parts can be toned more with a particular exercise routine.
  4. Do you include pre and post-workout snacks or meals to keep up with the workout without getting tired or losing muscle mass?
  5. Are your supplements enough for the recovery of muscle?
  6. How many liters of water do you consume in a day? Do you include any fluids during your workout?

Few tips to check on.

  1. Proper pre and post-workout meals should taken.
  2. There should be a proper gap of at least 1.5 to 2 hours between meals and workouts.
  3. Pre-workout options can be fruits and peanut butter with bread.
  4. Post-workout option should be a source of both protein and carbs. It should be taken within 30 minutes of the workout.
  5. There should be a proper intake of fluids.
  6. About 25 to 30 % of total energy should come from fat so add healthy fat like nuts, eggs, and avocado.

I hope this helps.
