Scoliosis is a pathological condition of the spine with an abnormal lateral curvature of atleast 10 degrees on the X-ray. Lateral curvature of atleast 20 degrees or more is necessary for scoliosis to be evident. In most cases, the cause is unknown, and the condition tends to run in families.
