Hi doctor,

I have a pain that runs from the left lower back to the stomach, onto the left thigh, and all the way to my left foot. I was stretching sideways while sitting with stretched legs when I heard a loud click. I cannot lift my leg straight to my chest, and I feel pain in my hip while lying down.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You must have locked your vertebral facet joint in a wrong pattern, due to which the L5-S1 nerve entrapment has occurred. As a result, you are getting the radiating pain. It is a case ofradiculopathy, so get a seven-day physiotherapy session consisting of the following. Grade 1 mobilization followed by grade 5 manipulation of L5 - S1 section of the vertebrae,TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) for 15 minutes on left leg.Ultrasound (1MHz). And do the following exercises at home.

  • Lie flat on the back, bend both the knees, now bring both the knees to one side of the body while your trunk moves towards the opposite side.
  • Cat and camel exercise, ten times, twice daily.
  • Bridging, ten times, twice daily.
  • Lie flat, put a pillow underneath your L5-S1 vertebrae, now try to push down the pillow with your trunk, do this 15 times, once daily once. Do not overexert yourself.

Regards.
