What medication should I take for my eye infection?

Hello doctor,

I have had an eye infection for the last 48 hours. My left eyelid over my eye has been swollen, watery, red, and is constantly tearing. I am not sure whether it is an insect that bit me near my left eye or a minor foreign object that went into my left eye or exchanging pillows with my wife. I feel some discomfort but no significant pain. The constant tears in my left eye are obscuring my vision. I rolled my eye around and did not feel a foreign object. I have taken Visine-A eye drops with antihistamines and Benadryl 25 mg oral tablets, but no significant improvement. What should I do now?Kindly help.

How to heal vision issues after being slapped on the face?

Hello doctor,

I recently got slap in my face (2 days ago), and I got some vision problems. It has been two days, and the problems have not been reduced or changed yet. There is a completely opaque black big oval which is blocking my left eye vision near the nose. Both the eyes have a little bit of blur entirely. Both the eyes have floaters and light flashes. In dim light or during the night, I can clearly see that black oval-shaped blockage near my nose. When we went to an ophthalmologist, he said there is no problem with the retina as of now. To me, it seems like retinal detachment. Is this really retinal detachment, and was I misdiagnosed? Can the problem get worse if I waited for a longer time? If it is not retinal detachment, is it permanent loss of peripheral vision or anything severe?

I have a hard time reading letters on a bright white background or any bright color. Why?

Hi doctor,

I have a hard time reading letters on a bright white background or any other bright color for few months. I can read it, but my brain has some issues. I do not have a problem reading white letters on a black background. I was at a few doctors, but the only thing they said was that to change the power of my glasses to -6.25 left and -7.25 right. I am 33 years old, and I am a gamer. What can be the problem?

I have blind spots in my central vision, but peripheral vision is better. Please help.

Hello doctor,

I have been struggling with my vision for a few years now and it is slowly worsening. I have the following symptoms: Blind spots in my central vision, for example when watching TV I cannot see the whole picture. Central vision is shadowed so I need light on images to see them clearly. I cannot see well at night everything appears darker, at the moment I can barely see well enough to drive at night. Objects in my peripheral vision are brighter than in my central vision. I am taking tablet Ocuvite eye vitamins daily as recommended by doctor. There is no existing health conditions or medication being used apart from vitamin supplements. Please help. Regards

My eyes are always red on waking up. Is it related to blepharitis?

Hello doctor,

I could see prominent blood vessels in my eyes. Since my teenage, my eyes have been dull, tired, and red. They are never itchy or irritated. I eat healthily, drink a lot of water, and sleep for eight hours. Though I am using preservative-free eye drops, my eyes are red on waking up every morning. I possibly sleep with my eyes open, but no one has ever told me that. My mother suffers from blepharitis. Are my eye issues related to that? Kindly help.
