Do abnormal LFT levels in pregnancy harm mother or fetus?

Hello doctor,

My wife is 35.5 weeks pregnant. I am uploading two consecutive LFT reports with a gap of nine days. Kindly suggest food alternatives for reducing ALP, bilirubin, SGOT, and SGPT. She is taking iron supplements, calcium, and Udiliv 300 twice daily. Is there any threat to the fetus and mother from the LFT report results? Kindly suggest.

What could cause chronic gastric issues in a 66-year-old female?

Hello doctor,

At the age of 66, my mother has been suffering from gastric issues for a long time. She had a CT scan and ultrasound about a year ago, but nothing was found. Recently, she has been experiencing a vomiting feeling and was given Dimenhydrinate tablets 50 mg. She took two tablets with a 5-hour gap between them, she felt better and discontinued the medication. However, after four days, the symptoms started again. Do you have any suggestions? Should she consider any tests? Are there any food or liquid recommendations to eat and not to eat? She cannot eat much now. Should she continue the medication for a few days even when not needed? For her blood pressure, she takes Perindopril Indapamide 1.25 mg twice daily. Can this vomiting feeling be a side effect of this Indapamide?

Kindly help.

What is the treatment for recurring stomach flu?

Hello doctor,

I am currently traveling, and I have encountered my second case of stomach flu in two weeks. The first episode was severe, marked by intense cramping and diarrhea, which resolved itself in five to six days. The second case, which began a week and a half later, is less intense with reduced cramping and no diarrhea, but I am experiencing bloating, discomfort, and constant cramping pain. I visited a local pharmacy and obtained Neofortan (160) capsules, taking the full course. It has been five days since then, and I have not had a bowel movement in three days. While I am feeling better than before, my stomach still feels somewhat crampy and bloated.

Should I seek assistance at a clinic or return to a pharmacy? I suspect this is a foodborne illness, as I have not experienced gastrointestinal issues before, and the symptoms began upon arriving in the new country. I have five more weeks in my current location. Please help.

Thank you.

Can probiotics and natural remedies help treat recurrent H.pylori infections?

Hello doctor,

I was diagnosed with H. pylori about 1.5 years ago and underwent a 14-day triple therapy, which was effective at that time. However, I recently tested positive again, and the prescribed treatment is the same triple therapy with bismuth. Unfortunately, due to numerous side effects, I could not complete more than seven days of the treatment. In an attempt to manage the situation, I am considering incorporating probiotics and natural remedies to alleviate symptoms until I feel healthier and ready to undergo another round of treatment. Currently, I am not taking any medication except for a multivitamin. In the past, I have used an HP kit and an HP kit with bismuth for the same issue. Relevant tests include a biopsy. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice on how to proceed. Please help.

Thank you.
