Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your response.
Yes, I am a 31-year-old female. I am a pure vegetarian. Breakfast is not regular. I usually take my first meal between 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., like roti-sabji or parathas. My lunch timing is 1 p.m., and I take complete food like rice, dal, roti, and vegetables. No evening snacks. Dinner is the same as lunch or breakfast. I am suffering from hypothyroidism. Regular medicine is Eltroxin 50 mcg, taken on an empty stomach. No regular exercise. Water intake is also less, around two to four glasses daily.
My height is 5 feet 3 inches, and my weight is approximately 119 pounds.
Kindly advise.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Your weight for your height is not very high, but I guess you are worried about belly fat.
I will advise you on some tips that you need to follow regularly, you will definitely succeed in losing belly fat.
Start your day with half a liter of warm water, followed by eight to ten soaked almonds and raisins. Never start your day with tea or coffee.
This should ideally be followed by simple exercise like walking or light aerobics. If you enjoy gym training, you can go for it. Some form of exercise is necessary. You have to do at least 45 minutes of simple exercise five days a week.
Next, have your breakfast, one or two rotis or flatbread (paratha) with plenty of vegetables cooked in very little oil. If it is not filling, you can drink a bowl of tomato soup or spinach soup.
At lunch, eat rice and rotis on alternate days. Measure rice in a small bowl. If you are eating roti, you can have one or two. Try not to eat both rice and roti in a single meal. Eat one full cucumber before lunch and drink a big glass of watery buttermilk after lunch.
One hour after lunch, eat one whole orange.
In the evening, have a cup of tea or coffee. Try to avoid or reduce sugar in your beverages. This is the only cup of coffee you can have in a day.
Have an early dinner, at least two hours before you sleep. Dinner is the same as lunch. You can alternate between roti and rice to break the monotony. Remember to eat more vegetables than roti or rice.
Eat all your meals at a set time, let your body understand exactly when you are feeding it.
Drink at least 101.44 fluid ounces of water daily.
Sleep and wake up at the same time every day.
Reduce intake of oily food and sweets to just one piece per week.
All sugary drinks and sodas are a big no.
Follow these tips and you will definitely see a change within the next month.
I hope this has helped you.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
One more question. It is the same with my husband, who is 33 years old. His height is 5 feet 7 inches, and his weight is approximately 161 pounds. His main problem is belly fat. He is also a vegetarian. Kindly suggest a plan for him.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Since you both are vegetarians and want to lose belly fat, I would suggest that he follow the same diet. It will be easier to follow the plan and cook the meals if you both stick to similar diets.
Remember that exercise, sleep, water intake, and meal timings play a very important role in keeping the body fit. I might have missed this earlier; aim to sleep at least eight hours daily.
All the best to both of you. Wishing you a healthy and fit life ahead.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.
Thank you.
