Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel pretty drained lately, and I am curious to know if certain nutrients or superfoods can help deal with my fatigue and boost my mental health. Are there specific things that I should add to my diet to combat tiredness and support my overall well-being? I am willing to eat healthy foods. Kindly advise on incorporating superfoods into a healthy diet.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am here to provide you with expert medical opinion.

All the symptoms that you are facing are very much related to certain deficiencies. Low Hb (hemoglobin) may cause lethargy, weakness, tiredness, cramps, etc. while low vitamin D and calcium may cause body or joint pain, difficulty in walking, etc. All these may increase inflammation resulting in weight gain. I suggest you the following:

  1. Your diet should include iron-rich foods like green veggies.

  2. Include fruits rich in vitamin C for better iron absorption.

  3. High protein is required for vitamin D absorption. It also increases Hb and calcium levels.

  4. Include more curd, white sesame seeds, and nuts in your diet for better vitamin D absorption.

  5. Include protein-rich foods like chicken or eggs.

  6. Include complex carbohydrates like oats, and millets with high doses of vitamin C, and iron. Gluten-free meals will help reduce inflammation.

Moreover, I suggest consultation with a doctor is needed for the correct medication.

I suggest starting gradually in the following manner:

  1. Target including one katori of curd with one teaspoon of white sesame seeds for the next 10 days.

  2. Include one sweet lime and two dates every day in your mid-morning meal for the next 10 days.

  3. Add some lemon to your lunch and dinner every day for the next 10 days.

I suggest you get your detailed blood reports done.

I hope this helps.

Do get back in case of any further queries.

Thank you.
