Hello doctor,

I have a cracking sound in my shoulders. It is similar to that sound while I crack my finger knuckles but louder. Sometimes I feel that my shoulders are in an awkward position and feel pain. When I try to rotate it around, it makes a cracking sound. Also, that happens to the back of my head. So I must keep rotating my head and sometimes use force to crack it. Otherwise, I feel strange, like the pain is slowly building up. Why is this so? Is it due to neck problems or the shoulder?

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

First of all, stop forcibly cracking your head and shoulder. It has become a habit for which the alignment of the neck and shoulder are not normally behaving after you try it manually then only. It might have developed impingement syndrome at the shoulder. Stop forcing, and you can apply a hot pack for relief.

Thank you.
