Immobilization

Immobilization is the restriction of movement to allow the injured tissues to heal. Immobilization makes use of splints, slings, POP casts and immobilizers ensuring no further damage happens to the injured site and also promotes faster healing. Immobilization is more important for an orthopedic injury to have satisfactory healing as the ligaments and bone will experience further damage when the affected area is under movement.
