Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have shoulder pain. I was told that where my three fibers meet from my deltoid the point is inflamed or something. She told me it would heal in 4 to 6 weeks but it still bothers me when I do gymnastics. I train in gymnastics seven hours a week.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
As you had inflammation at the junction of the meet-up of the tendon to muscles it takes usually 4 to 6 weeks. The doctor was right. Post which you should opt for physiotherapy for better assistance. As there is inflammation and the limb stays immobilized for 4 to 6 weeks for regular ADL it might have some sort of weakness of the shoulder girdle muscles that need attention.
So I would advise you to do exercise which helps in stabilizing the shoulder girdle but that should be free exercise and not of any weights. Continue the same for 2 to 3 weeks and then indulge in weight-bearing for 2 to 3 weeks. Post which you can start low-intensity weight training and progress gradually. There is a difference between weight bearing and weight training. Please do not misunderstand that. In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most cases have been reported for similar complaints but with sports shoulder rehabilitation programs they respond well. I will advise you on the above program and not go straight to high-intensity activities.
