Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old woman. I am willing to try anything to boost my energy and overall well-being. I have heard that carrot juice can be beneficial for health, especially during the winter season, and I am wondering if it could help me. Can you please explain if carrot juice is a good idea and what specific nutrients it provides that might help in the winter season? I need some guidance on how to improve my health through my diet, especially during these colder months.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Yes, carrot is a really good source of vitamin A, which contains retinoids that help skin cells regenerate, and reduce skin tan, wrinkles, and acne. It also helps in the production of eye pigment responsible for retina function. Nutrients in seasonal carrots have high bioavailability. Carrots can be incorporated into salad, soup, or healthy carrot cake too.

Bonus recipe: Winter soup.

Carrot and bell pepper soup

Ingredients:

  1. Half carrot, roughly chopped.
  2. One-fourth red capsicum, roughly chopped.
  3. One-fourth yellow capsicum, roughly chopped.
  4. One-fourth green capsicum, roughly chopped.
  5. One-fourth tomato, roughly chopped.
  6. Black pepper powder, to taste.
  7. Salt, to taste.
  8. Mixed herbs.

Method:

  1. Pour one cup of water into a pressure cooker and add carrot, tomatoes, green, yellow, and red capsicum to it.
  2. Mix well and pressure cook for three whistles.
  3. Before opening the lid, allow the steam to escape.
  4. Let it cool slightly and blend it in a mixer until smooth.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a pan, add mixed herbs, salt, pepper, and one-fourth cup water, mix well, and cook it on a medium flame for two to three minutes.
  6. Stir it occasionally and serve hot.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
