Patient's Query
Hello,
I am a 28-year-old female having a disc protrusion in L5-S1.
My lower back pain begins during my menstrual cycle, persists for almost one and a half weeks, and then subsides until the onset of the next cycle. I have a retroverted uterus, which is probably causing me more pain. I wanted to ask you if you have had a case like mine and how it was cured since physiotherapy has not cured me so far. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Lower back pain is common but for females with retroverted uterus, it is rare, I have done cases with similar pains. I suggest you ask your physical therapist to give traction to the lumbar spine for five days and then take IFT (interferential therapy)+US (ultrasound) therapy for 10 days. After a few sessions, you can start with lower back strengthening exercises. If possible consult with a female physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor rehab, the pelvic floor muscles also need to be strengthened for you to reduce pain.
Maintain proper posture, and take a good calcium-rich diet. Apply Diclofenac ointment and cover it with a cotton cloth for 10 minutes, clean it with warm water following hot compression for 15 minutes, this is to be done twice a day.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
Regards.
