Herniated disk and degenerative disk disease are common spinal disk problems. They usually exhibit symptoms like numbness, tingling sensation, muscle spasm, weakness, sharp pain, worsening pain with movements of the region supplied by the affected nerve. Discitis or infection of the disk is also a cause of disk problems.
