Such actions include inadvertent weight lifting, violent sneezing and coughing, sudden strenuous activity, and incorrect exercising technique. The sprain causes pain or muscle soreness and swelling with movement limitation or painful movements. Treatment includes ice pack application, adequate rest, and pain-relieving medications.
