Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Two months ago I hurt my lat muscle from pulling something and felt my arm tear a bit. The pain and swelling were not terrible following the injury but it was clear I strained my lat muscle. Two weeks later, I played golf and after seven holes, parts of my arm (bicep and elbow area) were swollen and in pain. Since that day it has been over a month.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have reviewed your question.
I am sorry you are experiencing arm pain and lat pain. Did you ever have this looked at after your initial injury? The way you are describing your biceps and elbow area may indicate a torn muscle. If that is the case, it is important to get it looked at. In the short term, I suggest using ice for the swelling. You need to ice for 15 minutes on, and 45 minutes off.
I suggest you get a chiropractic examination and would most likely recommend chiropractic adjustments and exercises if you were a candidate for care. I would also recommend a possible diagnostic ultrasound to look at the musculature of the arm. I recommend you go to a local chiropractor for treatment and proper care. They may want an X-ray or other diagnostic test to confirm their diagnosis but I would suspect that he or she will recommend a trial of care to see how you respond to care.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
