Can Invisalign treatment fix protruding front teeth without extractions?

Hello doctor,

I am interested in getting Invisalign treatment because my upper front teeth are protruding, although the issue is not severe. Recently, I have started feeling some discomfort due to this misalignment. Additionally, my teeth are closely compacted. I would like to know if it is possible for me to undergo Invisalign treatment without the need for any tooth extraction.Kindly answer.

Thank you.

Can orthodontic relapse cause open bite?

Hi doctor,

I have misaligned teeth due to not wearing a retainer after I had worn braces 16 years ago. I am now 31 years old. I was firmly rejected for braces recently by the orthodontist because of some root canals treatments and extractions (last upper molar missing would be a huge risk) that are done already. I believe that because of the extraction of the last upper molar four years ago, my overbite has gotten a lot worse. I was never bothered because it was not visible in my physical appearance. Now it is a lot visible, and I believe it is because of the extraction. I had the root canal treatments three to four years ago. On top of that, I think my nerve is failing on another tooth - the penultimate right molar. I strongly want to fix the overbite and the gap on the right, and I want to move the teeth to fill the gap and make space for a lateral incisor implant. Besides, I wanted to put an implant on the last upper left missing molar, but I have been told it is risky as I need a sinus lift and two sets of bone grafts. The only good thing I see is that I have healthy gums and roots - which I heard may shorten during the orthodontic treatment. But my teeth are terrible. Do you believe I can still fix my overbite with orthodontic treatment? My orthodontist suggested jaw surgery instead, but I am too scared to think of it. Kindly help.

Why did the doctor apply glue to my molar to stick braces?

Hello doctor,

I have braces and have had them for about a year. When I first got them on, they put glue on my molars to prevent me from biting my braces. The orthodontists said the bond would eventually disappear, but the glue is still present almost a year later. Is this normal, and will it damage my molars? Please help.

What are the ways to correct malocclusion without extracting premolars?

Hi doctor,

I had braces before but my teeth have shifted not as they used to be but still they require treatment, now dentist suggested it is because of wisdom teeth. It was pushing my front teeth and the orthodontist said it was because my lower jaw and upper are not matching. My lower teeth are also a little bit shifted. Anyway, my doctor said she would only go ahead if I have premolars removed and said there is no point in wearing braces in my lower jaw as it cannot be moved at my age (23) and teeth are not that shifted. I was hoping to go with Invisalign as I work now and I can afford it, or some hybrid method but after doing some research and speaking with people many people claim that they are not happy with premolar extraction and that it is an old-fashioned method. What should I do? Please suggest.

Thank you.

I still have pain after days of extraction. Does that mean there is infection?

Hello doctor,

I am a cleft lip and palate patient. I have gone through a tooth extraction four days back. I am still suffering from severe pain. My dentist prescribed tablet Chymoral Forte and tablet Zerodol for pain relief, but it is of no help. So, please suggest some way to get relief from pain. Thank you.
