Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 27 years old. I have 9 months old baby. Actually my problem is weight and personality. My weight is 77 lbs and I am too thin from my childhood. After marriage, I am some what better with my body. During pregnancy time also I am happy with my weight and body. After delivery again I am back to a normal body and I am too thin now. I am eating a lot but no change. How can I gain body weight? Please suggest.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
To increase your body weight you can check your protein intake. Also, if you are breastfeeding your baby, protein becomes the utmost essential for you. You can include nuts, oilseeds like pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, soybean, sprouts, legumes, beans, cheese, paneer, and skimmed milk powder. If you are non-vegetarian you can also include egg, chicken, and fish in your diet. Try to check on for worm infestation, you can do deworming course after every three months.
You can prepare one meal which includes all nutrients, avoid eating a variety of meal at one go, for example, at breakfast you can have one big stuffed paneer paratha, in lunch, you can have one protein-rich dish instead of having two to three different variety like soybean, veg gravy, or chicken pulao. Avoid eating mini snacks in between.
