I am 6 ft, 143 lbs. Can vegetarian diet help me gain weight?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My height is 6 feet, and my weight is 143 lbs. I want to gain weight. How much weight do I need to gain according to my height? Please suggest a full vegetarian diet plan for gaining weight fast.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You should not be looking forward to gaining fat. What you need to gain is muscle strength. It gives you lots of energy with great looks, too. You must include proteins in your diet to gain the look you desire. Since you are a vegetarian, the only sources of protein are sprouts, pulses, and nuts. Instead of having three major meals daily, I suggest you divide them into six to eight small meals.

Counting calories is an outdated theory. Indulge in an hour of physical exercise every day, which includes weight training. I would like to know your age, daily routine, and the foods you have eaten while growing up and in childhood.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
