It is accompanied by pain, discomfort, ulceration, leg cramps, ache, heaviness of the leg, restless legs, bleeding, and poor healing in severe cases. In that case, treatment involves surgical excision of the vein, ligation and stripping, sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation, endovenous laser treatment, and transilluminated powered phlebectomy.
