Spondylosis

The degenerative changes of the spine and intervertebral disks and growth of bony spurs due to aging or wear and tear result in spondylosis that causes problems with movements. Based on the region affected, spondylosis is classified as cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spondylosis. Obesity, spinal surgeries or injuries, osteoarthritis, smoking, poor posture, and physical inactivity are certain triggers. Spondylosis causes pain, movement restriction, stiffness, weakness, and muscle spasms in the regions that the affected nerve supplies. Painkillers, maintaining good posture, physiotherapy, adequate rest during pain, and physical activity can be of use to get rid of the symptoms.
