An overactive muscle usually means the muscle is short, tight, and strong, and underactive muscle is long and weak. An overactive muscle near the joint pulls the limb towards its direction. This can happen in bad posture, weak core strength, poor exercise technique, repetitive motion, lack of neuromuscular efficiency, trauma, etc. Overactive muscle cause cramps, stiffness, myalgia, which can be due to caffeine intake, vitamin deficiency, metabolic disorders, etc.
