Lumbar Compression

Lumbar compression most commonly occurs due to gradual wear and tear of the spinal bones due to pressure on the spine compressing the spinal nerves. It causes cauda equina syndrome. Loss of bowel and bladder control, numbness of the legs, inner thighs, back of the legs, pain in one or both legs, difficulty walking, etc. Some types of lumbar compression can be prevented by regularly exercising to keep the spine flexible, strengthen the back muscles, sleep on a firm mattress, maintain a good posture and weight, and lift weights safely.
