Do weight gain supplements help a thin and weak person?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old male and my weight is 119 lbs. I look very thin and weak. Please suggest me some supplements for gaining weight. Will supplements cause any side effects in our bodies? I am confused as I do not have any medical problems and have a healthy body. I only want to gain weight.

Kindly help.

Hello, Thank you for stopping by!

I am here to provide expert opinions on your medical issues. It is more important to be fit and healthy. Even though you are slim you should have strength in your body. You can follow some basic diet plans and workouts for gaining weight. The supplements will only yield temporary effects. But it is always good to have a natural follow-up routine that will give you a long-term effect. I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below. Have boiled eggs, toast, and milk in your breakfast. Have more carbohydrate content in your lunch. Have a full plate of rice with green vegetables or fish. Have snacks in the evening with fruits including avocado. Drink milk every day. Add lots of protein to your dinner. Have more legumes and pulses. Drink enough water. If possible, have coconut water thrice a week. I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
