Hello doctor,

I am a 20-year-old male and my height is 5 feet 2 inches. But I want to be at least 5 feet 5 inches. Please give me a solution.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

According to your height and weight your BMI (body mass index) is normal. Exercising daily with a proper diet will help you achieve your height with fitness. You have to eat once every two hours. You have to take 45 grams of protein-rich foods in a day.

I suggest you follow a diet chart. Alternative foods also have been mentioned.

  1. Early morning (7:00 am): Have three to four pieces of soaked almonds or sprouts.
  2. Breakfast (8:30 am): Have two pieces of brown bread and a boiled egg without yolk. You can also have 3 pieces of roti with milk or two pieces of bread and peanut butter.
  3. Midmorning (11:00 am): Have fruit juices. You can have either pineapple juice or a glass of banana milkshake.
  4. Lunch (1:30 pm): You can have two cups of rice, one bowl of vegetable, egg, rajma, mushroom, fish, or chicken curry, one plate of salad, and half a cup of sour curd.
  5. Evening (5:30 pm): You can have one bowl of vegetable or chicken stew, semolina porridge.
  6. Dinner (8:30-9:00 pm): You can have roti or one cup of rice with one bowl of paneer curry.

I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below:

  1. Do exercises like swimming or yoga. You can also go to a gym.
  2. Avoid stress and alcohol consumption.
  3. Have plenty of water, at least 10 glasses a day.
  4. Have more food during each meal.
  5. Before every meal, you can walk for some time as it makes you feel hungrier.
  6. Sleep for at least seven to eight hours a day.
  7. Have chocolates, pastries, cakes, chips, butter, ghee, and paratha.

If you do not have any health problems and are physically fit, then do not worry about your height. Do not take any supplements for gaining height as it depends on heredity. Young people are always dissatisfied with their height and weight. Do not compare yourself with others for body weight or height. Aim for strength and fitness. Be satisfied and confident about your looks. Continue with your good diet and exercise and over a while your body will change. Kindly remember that gaining height is a time taking process. So do not expect any results within a fortnight.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
