Growth spurts are short time intervals during which a child experiences rapid growth in height and weight. Growth spurts can be full potential in well-nourished children, good sleep cycle, and physical activities. The first growth spurt occurs between seven to ten days after birth, the second-growth spurt between three to six weeks, and the third growth spurt between eight to 13 years for girls and 10 to 14 years for boys.
