Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have pain and a burning sensation in the lower part of my stomach. Also, I have a burning sensation while eating.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

These seem to be the initial symptoms of peptic ulcer. This is quite a common issue among this age group. However, I would also like you to answer a few questions mentioned below:

  1. Are you passing any black stools?
  2. Have you been on any antibiotics or painkillers recently?
  3. Do you eat a lot outside?

Some of the antibiotics or painkillers can be harsh on the stomach lining causing soreness of the gastric and duodenal parts leading to pain and a burning sensation. This will be pumped up by the H. pylori (helicobacter pylori) bacteria which is predominantly seen in the population eating outside or unhygienic food frequently. Stress and late-night wakefulness also play a major role. So try to look into these factors and avoid or reduce them if you have any. I suggest you take the following medications:

    1. Take a tablet of Pantop (Pantoprazole) 40 milligrams early in the morning just after waking up for one week.
    2. Take syrup Sucralfate (protectant) two teaspoons 15 to 20 minutes before breakfast for one week.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
