What are the recommended supplements and vitamins to ensure proper nutrition when not consuming enough vegetables and fruits?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 18-years-old female and weigh 98 lbs. I do not like veggies and fruits. I rarely eat it. I can count how many times I eat veggies and fruits in a month or maybe in a few months. I am so concerned about my health and my body condition due to this unhealthy lifestyle. So, can you please recommend me some supplements or vitamins with your advice ensuring that I got all of the nutrients that are supposed to be provided by veggies and fruits? I do hope the supplements would not affect my weight.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I am very sorry to say that it is not going to help you with any supplements without vegetables and fruits. I have seen many people with a tendency not to eat. But you have to take vegetables and fruits in optimum amounts to gain good health. Supplements are not going to help you for long.

  1. Have natural safer ways of gaining weight.
  2. Avoid junk foods, spicy and chilly items.
  3. Drink milk twice a day.
  4. Add some protein powder with milk which is healthier than other supplements.
  5. Start morning walk.
  6. Have small four meals per day, which will help you.
  7. Avoid skipping meals.
  8. Add fruit salads with a little salt over them which will increase appetite.
  9. Make some new and healthy food items from vegetables that will interest you.
  10. Have a positive mind about gaining weight and start yoga.

Thank you for consulting me.

You can always come back and reach me at icliniq.com.
