Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 30-year-old female. May I know what constitutes a healthy diet? How much minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins can be taken in a day? What are the healthy foods that can be incorporated everyday to stay healthy? What are the healthy foods that can be taken by children everyday to keep their immunity boosted?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The average adult female needs about 1,600 to 2,400 calories per day, while adult males need 2,000 to 3,000 per day. You will need to increase your calorie intake if you are more than moderately physically active to maintain a balance. Eat at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day base meals on higher fiber starchy foods like potatoes, bread, rice, or pasta. Have some dairy or dairy alternatives (such as soya drinks) andeat some beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat, and other protein.
Components of a balanced diet:
A balanced diet contains all of the essential elements that the human body needs. Carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, minerals, proteins, fiber, and water are all essential components in a well-balanced diet. A nutritious, well-balanced diet lowers the risk of disease and enhances general health.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
