Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 16-year-old boy experiencing sharp pain in the right lower part of my back. The symptoms developed after working out in the weight room. It has been several weeks after symptom onset, but it has not gone away. I did not perform any physical activities after developing pain, but it still hurts. I consulted a physician, and they suggested stretching my back, and the symptoms would resolve in two weeks. The pain still occurs when I am in a certain position or when active. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query, and I can understand your concern.
The pain might have occurred during your workout session. Therefore, I suggest the following steps:
Stop doing any activity for now.
Try stretching your back gently without over-pressurizing the area.
Lay flat on the back, and bring close one of the legs with your hand by bending the knee towards your chest. Bring the leg up to a comfortable position. Stay in the position for 15 counts and come back to the normal position.
Lay flat on the back. Put a pillow under the side affected. Now try to press down the pillow with your back. Do not exhaust yourself. Do this for the count of 15.
Apply a hot pack after completion of the exercises.
You can also do cat and camel exercises with ten repetitions twice daily.
Follow the steps for two weeks and follow up with the results.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
