Can acute pancreatitis cause yellow and greasy stools?

Hello doctor,

I was hospitalized earlier for one and a half months due to abdominal pain and was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. My CECT (contrast-enhanced computed tomography) scan report indicates acute interstitial pancreatitis. Additionally, my lipase and amylase were elevated at that time. From three to four days, I have noticed that my stool color is yellow, and I feel lubricant consistency while cleaning. Do I have fat in my stool? I am worried. I do not have any pain or discomfort except my stool color. I was an alcoholic five years ago, not a regular, but I did consume a lot, and after diagnosis, I quit. Is anything wrong with my pancreas? Am I having malabsorption? I am 34 years old but thin and underweight. Please help.

Thank you.

What could be the reason for acid reflux during sleep after a heavy meal?

Hi doctor,

I get acid -reflux during sleep after taking heavy meals late at night. I eat between 8 pm and 9 pm. It wakes me up and I find it difficult even to breathe until it settles down. But last night I had a light meal by 6 pm. I used a sleeping drop and placed 10 or 11 drops under my tongue to get a deep sleep. However, I woke up in between coughing and gasping for breath due to acid reflux. In this case, is the acid reflux caused by the excessive use of sleeping drops?

Thank you.

How to distinguish between pre-menstrual syndrome pain and other body pain?

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-years-old female and I was accidentally diagnosed with gallstones. The gallstones measured 4 mm on ultrasound but showed no evidence on CT. My doctor did not suggest any medications or surgery and has asked me to make lifestyle changes. I also have had pain in the right shoulder, upper right back pain for five days and I can follow my daily routine without any problems and I am sleeping well too. As soon as the day begins, the pain starts and sometimes also feel a burning sensation which extends till my right arm. Sometimes, I feel I have sprained my muscles. I drive a lot and I sit and work on my desk. I am currently going through pre-menstrual syndrome and I am not able to distinguish between the pain. I would like to know whether the pain is related to pre-menstrual syndrome or gallstones. Generally, I have painful and intense pre-menstrual syndrome symptoms during my menstrual cycles. I have nausea, fatigue, stomach tightness, and sore breasts too.

Kindly help.

What are the ways to treat stomach pain and ulcer?

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from a stomach ulcer for five months. I started taking Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin, and Omeprazole, but my stomach hurt so much that I stopped taking the Clarithromycin and Omeprazole but continued taking Amoxicillin for one month. Since stopping Amoxicillin, my condition has deteriorated further, and I am unable to eat or drink due to constant stomach pain. What antibiotics (with fewer side effects) and in what dosages may I take alongside with Rabeprazole to heal my ulcer?

Kindly help.
