Why do I have an overactive appetite despite eating healthy?

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female with a weight of 130 lbs and a height of five feet two inches. I am struggling to lose 15 pounds. But I cannot lose weight. I feel very hungry. I am a dancer with an active job. I eat healthy foods with fats, proteins, and vegetables. I am very educated regarding nutrition and I eat very well. My problem is my appetite. Even when I lose my weight, I gain it back eventually because my appetite is never adjusted. I have hypothyroidism and taking treatment for it. The other women in my family are very lean and they naturally eat less. My body fat is present on my stomach, hips, and lower back. I have very thin arms and legs. This is something that gets stuck in my mind. Why do I have an overactive appetite even when I eat foods healthy? How to control it? I am taking Yaz birth control pill and Levothyroxine and Liothyronine tablets for hypothyroidism and Sertraline for depression.

I struggle to stay awake during the day. Please help me.

Hi doctor,

I am a 29-year-old female who works the night shift. I have trouble with excessive sleepiness during the daytime and recurring sleep loss at night. I cannot sleep during the day, and I struggle to concentrate and to be alert. I also have trouble remembering things. My mood often changes from irritable to not being able to cope with problems. I have very little interest in socializing when not at work, with family, or friends.

Apart from Levofloxacin, which antibiotic can I take for long-term sinus infection?

Hi doctor,

I have long-lasting effects of COVID-19 for a year. I have a sinus infection and upper respiratory infection, and Azithromycin did not work in my case. My doctor prescribed Levaquin, and I am scared to take it because of the reports of heart and tendon issues. One time when I took Levaquin 750 mg, I got sore legs. Should I ask for a different antibiotic?

I am diagnosed with lupus. How to confirm my diagnosis?

Hello doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male. I have been diagnosed with lupus. However, I am questioning the diagnosis. Initial presentation of ITP (platelet count under 10k) minor loss of kidney function. Underwent biopsy and reported to have glomerulonephritis prominent mesangial deposits. In addition, three false syphilis positives. Failed hospital treatments (IVIG, Dexamethasone, and Rituxan) and underwent splenectomy. I had a heart attack (Troponin 60), positive thyroperoxidase antibody, multiple years of positive lupus anticoagulant, positive beta-2 glycoprotein (IgG and IgM), and positive anticardiolipin (IgG, IgM, and IgA). I have never been positive about the Rh factor. My C4 complement is borderline low, and sometimes low C3 as well. Current stage 4 CKD (BUN:40, creatinine-3.04, GFR:18). According to my doctors, the literature indicates SLE. However, given the newest criteria for a diagnosis provided by the NIH, due to the lack of positive ANA, I do not fit the category. Having read on the internet, glomerulonephritis, and thyroid disease, would produce the same symptoms. Given the above information, hypothetically, what further information would disprove an SLE diagnosis from a physician's perspective? Or is a coexistence of these factors likely? I quit frequent hookah smoking after a heart attack and no alcohol habit. Sometimes I have a fever, muscle/nerve pain, fatigue, alopecia, nausea, abdominal pain, brain fog, and weight gain. I am currently on Carvedilol, Eliquis, Acetaminophen, Clonidine, Hydralazine, Hydroxychloroquine, Azathioprine, Atorvastatin, and Aspirin. I understand that the information given does not imply treatment. Having read how many autoimmune diseases have overlapping symptoms, I am looking for a professional opinion.
