Professional Bio
Dr. Maleka Amdavadwala can manage an individual caseload of patients effectively and efficiently, undertaking predominantly complex physiotherapy cases. She compleed her BPT degree from Khyati Institute of Physiotherapy in 2018. She can independently assess and analyze complex data and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention. She carries out a comprehensive discharge plan and collaborates with the other multidisciplinary team members and family when the measurable short and long-term goals have been achieved. She provides patient and family education promptly as part of the physiotherapy process and works as part of a team to ensure effective communication and care delivery, including participation in medical/surgical rounds, clinics, and conferences. She can maintain patient documentation, records, and accurate statistical information to reflect the care provided and meet professional standards. She assists in developing clinical guidelines to optimize patient care in physiotherapy and works independently to offer physiotherapy on weekends or holidays and on-call maintenance.
Awards & Publications
Dr. Maleka Amdavadwala has attended a hands-on workshop on Therapeutic taping at the Institute of Manual Therapy & Taping for 16 contact hours. In addition, she participated in implementing HMC and Departmental Policies and Procedures for safety, infection control, and quality improvement. She also attended the following: State Level Pre Conference workshop on evidence-based pre and post-natal at 12th STATE CONPHYCS 2018. 1st level inter-college quiz competition on PHYSIO PULSE 2019 at K.M. Patel Institute of Physiotherapy. Sports Injuries- Evidence-based Physiotherapy at Sumandeep Vidhyapeeth for 3.5 contact hours.
