Is it necessary to induce labor if the blood pressure is above 140 mm Hg?

Hello doctor,

My spouse is 36 weeks pregnant. We noted that her blood pressure has been fluctuating since yesterday. We called the doctor, and they kept her under observation for a couple of hours and did some blood and urine tests. She did not have any other symptoms like headache, pain in the abdomen, or blurred vision. The only sign is her blood pressure was fluctuating. After a couple of hours, the doctor mentioned that her blood pressure was above 140 and added her to the induction list. They asked as to come on sometime this week to induce labor. I have a couple of questions as follows:

1) Is it necessary to have induced labor?

2) Was the assessment correct?

3) Is induction of labor safe at 37 weeks of pregnancy?

4) Is there any long-term side effect of the labor induction process on the baby or mother?

5) How will postpartum look like in this case?

6) Will her blood pressure get back to normal?

7) Is there any relation between using Pitocin and autism in newborns?

Thanks.

Will positive Toxoplasma IgG result in miscarriage?

Hello doctor,

My wife has a history of two earlier miscarriages which occurred during the first trimester in the first month. We consulted a local gynecologist and the problem turned up to be high toxoplasmic infection reading was IgG 82. She received Rovamycin Forte for three months along with other supplements like Folinext and Ecosprin for six months. Now my wife is pregnant. Again we visited the doctor and she advised to perform toxoplasma IgG which again came back positive with IgG 78. Her first day of the last menses was 27th February. She has been receiving Rovamycin Forte once again and Duphaston, Folxt, Ecosprin and Doxinate. But now the problem is, she is unwell and been vomiting nearly every day during evening hours. There is a little brown discharge seen. In this situation, I am very much concerned about what will happen next? Will it be a miscarriage for the third time? Please help.

I am 20 weeks pregnant, and I took one Escitalopram pill for anxiety. Will it affect the baby?

Hi doctor,

I have a question related to my pregnancy. I am currently nearly 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby (19 weeks 5 days to be exact). I had the anatomy scan a couple of days ago, and everything looks great. However, because I have some anxiety, I was prescribed Escitolapram for my anxiety. I took 5 mg in the evening on Thursday, but the next day I felt sick, nauseous, light headed. In short, the medication did not make me feel good. I know it takes a couple of weeks to kick in. However, I have decided to work on my anxiety by myself instead of medicating right off the bat, so I have decided not to continue taking it. However, I am worried that taking one pill could have impacted the baby. Could you let me know if this is the case?

I bleed after sex and also get pink watery discharge after periods. Why?

Hello doctor,

Sometimes I have some bleeding after sex, however, when I use a lubricant, I do not have any bleeding. On the other hand, I have a watery discharge. My period lasts four to five days, then for two days I have nothing and then I have pink liquid blood coming out of my vagina it lasts for two days. I am 19 years old, I went to see my gynecologist and she keeps telling me that this is normal and that I do not have to worry because I am only 19 years old. She then gave me a gynecological examination and a pap test. She says that my cervix looks sensitive and that there is nothing really wrong. But I am very exasperated, I see that my vaginal discharge is a symptom of cancer except that mine does not smell. I just want to know if I should worry or not. Because even if she tells me that I am young that it will be rare and my cervix looks normal. She does not give me any details. Please suggest an opinion.
