Bilateral Dacryoadenitis in paediatric age group

Medical Case Details:

A kid with bilateral upper lid swelling and tenderness over lacrimal fossa since 1 week. She was 7 years old. On slit lamp examination both upper eyelid were swollen and there was tender round to oval nodules over lacrimal fossa on palpitation. Adviced MRI ORBITS WITH CONTRAST. It came as acute bilateral Dacryoadenitis.

Dacryoscintigraphy is a functional study which will give you an idea whether it is preductal,post ductal or presac obstruction.

I would send blood work for: EBV, Sarcoid, IgG, ANA, ANCA, Sjogren's. If negative with no resolution, may warrant biopsy for diagnosis.
