How to improve stamina and endurance?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 27-year-old male with hypertension, and I take Telmisartan along with Metoprolol succinate in the morning. My blood pressure is under control. Recently, I started walking in the mornings, initially walking briskly for 15 minutes. After a few days, I noticed an increase in my heart rate, and I experienced weakness in my legs after walking for five to seven minutes. I recently had an ECG and an ECHO, and both results were completely normal.

Please suggest what I should do.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It seems that you may lack stamina and endurance. Your muscles get fatigued due to the absence of stretching exercises. You need to incorporate stretching exercises and cardio into your routine to build more energy and endurance. I have reviewed the attachment (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Based on normal test results, your heart is functioning properly. The issue seems to be with your body muscles. It is essential for you to include daily stretching and cardio exercises in your routine.

Thanks and regards.
