Hi doctor,
I am 19 years old and want medicine to get fat as I am very thin. I eat whatever is good for my health. But I suddenly became dull, and my stomach got very small. Please give some suggestions to gain weight.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.
According to your height, your weight and BMI (body mass index) is normal. I suggest you test for thyroid and stress levels. Daily exercise with a proper diet will help you in achieving good weight with fitness. I will suggest you a diet chart with alternative food that includes:
Eat three to four soaked almonds or sprouts at seven in the early morning.
For breakfast, at 8:30 am, you can eat two pieces of brown bread and three boiled eggs without yolk, two flatbreads with milk, or two bread pieces with peanut butter.
At 11 am, you can have one glass of fruit juice made from a pineapple or banana milkshake.
During lunch at 1:30 PM, eat two cups of rice with one bowl of egg, kidney beans, mushroom, fish, or chicken curry. You can also include one salad bowl and a half cup of sour curd.
For evening snacks at 5:30 PM, you can have one bowl of vegetables, chicken stew, semolina porridge, or chira pulao.
For dinner at 9 PM, eat two flatbreads or one cup of rice with one bowl of paneer, fish, mushroom, or vegetable curry.
I would also suggest the following:
Do exercises like strength training or yoga.
Avoid stress and alcohol.
Take plenty of water, at least ten glasses a day.
Try to eat more food at each meal.
Before a meal, you can walk as it helps you feel hungrier.
Sleep at least seven to eight hours per day.
You can eat chocolate, pastry, cake, chips, butter, ghee, and paratha.
Even after following these, if your weight does not increase, take a whey protein supplement or Nutrigain. Nutrigain is a protein supplement used to gain weight. There is no side effect if you take prescribed doses with workout or exercise. The amount of protein powder to be taken depends on your body weight and type. Only taking supplements with no exercise can cause the following:
Digestive problem.
It may decrease liver function.
It may cause muscle damage
Sexual problems like decreased sexual desire or premature ejaculation.
Hormonal problems like anxiety, depression, and stress.
It may increase blood sugar.
However, prolonged use can cause side effects. If you achieve your desired weight, you should stop protein supplements gradually by reducing half a teaspoon daily. Also, It is important to follow a good diet and exercise. If you have no other health problems and are physically fit, then you do not have to be tense about your weight. It is better to avoid taking any supplements to gain weight. Young people are always dissatisfied with their height and weight. So, do not compare yourself with others about weight or height. You must aim for strength and fitness and be satisfied and confident about your looks. Follow a good diet and exercise, and slowly your body will change. Kindly remember gaining weight is a time taking process. So do not expect any result within a fortnight.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
