Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 37 years old with a weight of 143.30 Ibs and a height of 5.5 feet. I have multiple fibroids, and the size of one was 3.5". I used to have excess bleeding with clots during the second and third days of my periods. We want to plan for the baby. But due to this, we are delaying the process. Kindly advise if this could be treated without surgery. I have enclosed the reports.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Considering your age, you need to be serious about getting pregnant. As age goes on, the risk of pregnancy and delivery also goes up. For your fibroids, I would suggest the following.

  1. Capsule Nandhi Mezhugu (Pippali, Bharangi, Shunti) - one in the morning and one at night after food.
  2. Aloes compounds tablet (Kumari, Hirabol, Kambhoji) - two in the morning, afternoon, and night after food.
  3. Capsule Siddhadhi ennai (Thippili, Karun, Seeragam) - one capsule at night weekly for two days (every third day). This will empty your colon in the morning with a mild laxative effect.

Consume black gram and fenugreek in daily food in any form. Continue this advice for three continuous months. Then repeat the scan. I hope you will find good improvement. These are given to reduce or cure fibroids and to prepare your uterus for conception. After three months, we can decide whether you need to go for IVF or if Siddha or Ayurveda protocol is sufficient. You can try for sexual intercourse on the 12th to 15th day after the period. The first day of bleeding is considered the first day of the period. So let you try these now.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

With the above-recommended treatment, can we be assured that multiple fibroids shrunk? Whether the current size of fibroids will be an issue if I get conceived?

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

These traditional drugs can reduce the size of multiple fibroids, even the bigger size. Usually, people with fibroids get conception, but the fetus will not stay till delivery due to the unfavorable intrauterine support. Therefore, they typically end up with abortions. When more hormones are secreted during pregnancy, the fibroids may also grow in size. It is not for all patients. Hence, for a safer side, first, let us treat the fibroid to reduce the size, then conception is ideal.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have a few more queries. Can we see some level of improvement in one month during the scan? Will the blood flow reduce? Do I need to follow any diet?

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hello doctor,

Traditional herbal medicines take 48 days (three lunar cycles) to show their benefit in the lab. You evaluate its benefit after two months of starting the therapy. The dietary practice is important to strengthen the uterine endometrium and uterus muscle, which helps retain the fetus.

For any gynecology disease, three cycles of treatment are a must. Hence I suggested taking the medication for three months. But, in two months, you can check in a scan.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
