Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been diagnosed with acute epididymitis. My ultrasound report is normal and does not show any inflammation. However, when my doctor examined me physically, he suggested I have mild epididymitis and prescribed some medicines. The pain has reduced, but when I touch my testicle, the pain recurs.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and would be happy to help.

Acute epididymitis gets resolved within a week after taking medication. However, the touch-induced pain may continue for a few weeks due to the organ's sensitivity. I suggest you take the following Siddha medicines for 15 days, Capsule Rasagenthi Mezhugu (Gandhakam, Pooram, Paththra thalagam) twice daily with a glass of buttermilk. Kazharchi kai (Nickernuts) powder that is to be mixed with egg yolk, made into a paste, applied to the testis before sleeping, and washed off in the morning while bathing. The paste has to be prepared freshly every day. If you do not get kazharchi kai powder, you can buy kazharchi kai 500 gm from a local herbal shop, remove the outer shell, then make it into a powder in the mixie and store it in a bottle.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

Can I buy kalarchikai chooranam? Also, how long will it take to cure?

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Kalarchikai chooranam and kazharchi kai powder are the same. It is the right practice if you have already applied it with egg yolk. You can continue it and also start the capsule Rasagenthi Mezhugu. The inflammation will come down. You have to continue the treatment for 15 to 30 days.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Does kalarchikai chooranam cause burning sensation on the skin of the testicle?

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Kazharchi kai powder, when applied with egg yolk, does not cause local irritation and burning sensation. Items like turmeric and pepper that cause a burning sensation should not be added. Also, it must not be mixed with water. Did you experience a burning sensation after applying it?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The powder that I have has come with a mix of pepper, so is it the reason for the burning sensation?

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it can be the reason. Also, that drug is recommended for oral consumption. I suggest you buy Karachi kai powder separately from a herbal shop. Also, you can take the help of a nearby doctor on how to use it.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
