Common "Dextroscoliosis" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Dextroscoliosis

Dextroscoliosis is a spinal deformity where the spine curvatures toward the right side. As a result, the spine appears as “C” or “S” shaped. It is the most common type of spine curvature in children between 10 to 15 years but can also be in muscle disorders. The patient may have a different shoulder height with the head tilting on one side. If the curvature is less than 25 degrees, regular monitoring is done. Bracing or casting is done when the curvature is between 25 to 45 degrees. Chiropractic treatment is also a non-invasive treatment for scoliosis. If the curvature is above 45 degrees, surgical procedures are done.
