How to fix male pattern baldness?

Hello doctor,

I have noticed a progressive thinning of my hair and suspect it might be pattern hair loss. Can you provide information on the different patterns of hair loss in men and women? Additionally, what are the most effective treatments or solutions available for managing pattern hair loss, and are there lifestyle changes that could help prevent further hair thinning?

Please help.

Can cramps and diarrhea with fever indicate gastric problem?

Hello doctor,

I am getting stomach problem from the last year after consuming fish curry. I suffered from diarrhea and low-grade fever and after taking multiple antibiotics I got relief but I started to get a new problem. I was getting stomach cramps and diarrhea that happens suddenly after taking meals (especially in the morning). This diarrhea is not 100 % watery but loose and it will not happen daily. After getting diarrhea I will get constipation for many days. I took Rifaximin 550 (TID) along with probiotics for 14 days but I still have a tendency of diarrhea like stomach rumble with the defecating tendency and I get some cramps (sometimes burning pain in the abdomen). Therefore I need to know whether I am getting the problem because of irritable bowel syndrome or is there any infection that is causing this? Do I have to continue taking Rifaximin 550?

How to treat smashed, swollen thumb without nail removal?

Hello doctor,

I have a smashed thumb by the cricket ball. I was hit last week and there is blood clot under my nail. Thus I am still having pain in my finger and it is swollen. Now the pain reduced a bit but the swelling is unchanged and because of it I am still having pain and I cannot bend my finger. I showed myself to a doctor and he gave me some medicines and also I had an X-ray of the finger and the reports were good. Because there was not a lot of progress I went to the doctor again but my earlier doctor was not present and another doctor observed me and told to remove the nail. He told me to consult with a surgery specialist and he will tell me what to do. I do not want to remove the nail and for that, I have found the solution that by making a small hole through the nail, blood can be removed. Now please tell me what should I do.

What should I do if am facing prostate levels concerns?

Hello doctor,

I am a 66-year-old male. My only medical history is hypertension (controlled) with Norvasc. I went for my routine prostate test a couple of months ago and the result stated:

1. PSA - 9.8 ng/mL.

2. Free PSA - 1.9 ng/mL.

3. Percentage free PSA - 19.4 %.

I went back to another doctor a few weeks ago and he repeated the PSA and did a digital exam and the results were as follows: PSA - above 10 ng/mL. Prostate sightly enlarged, preserved median groove, not nodular, feels rubbery. He prescribed Proscar 4 mg daily for a month. I have absolutely no urinary symptoms. What do you suggest that I do?
