What can be done to manage migraine which is getting worse?

Hello doctor,

I am a 22 year old female. I have always suffered from migraines. Recently, it seems like it has been getting worse. Last year, I gave birth to my son vaginally. Now, when I lay on my abdomen or even turn my head, I notice a heartbeat sound in my ear. My nurse practitioner thought it was coming from my neck and sent me for physiotherapy. And, she checked my ears, but there was no wax. Do I need physiotherapy? Should I get a referral and maybe go to a specialist? Should I be worried about a possible hearing loss?

Could neck pain, stiffness, hand numbness indicate syrinx?

Hello doctor,

I am having significant neck pain that goes out into my shoulders a bit. Pain is accompanied by severe stiffness. Also, my hands have been falling asleep about seven or eight times a week (roughly) and even ache a bit. I thought I might be dealing with a pinched nerve, but all my symptoms are fairly bilaterally equal. This last week I was put through an MRI for a lipoma in my left shoulder and neck area and they found that I also had a lower cervical syrinx at C6 about 3 mm. Could this be causing the pain and numbness that I have been dealing with? Or is the syrinx something that should be removed? I am awaiting an appointment with a neurosurgeon but I thought I would reach out in the meantime. I appreciate any information that you give me.

Can Cognium syrups improve concentration in depression?

Hello doctor,

I have a 15-year-old son who was suffering from depression two months ago but is fine now except for having a few weird thoughts. The only issue currently is that he is not studying. He was suggested the following medicines- Cognium syrup and Shine-25 tablets. I plan to give only Cognium syrup, shall I go ahead? Please recommend the appropriate dosage.

What is the effect of stopping Pradaxa?

Hello doctor,

My wife just started on Pradaxa (blood thinner) a week back. She has an antiphospholipid antibody, but she has not had any clot before. We started seeing a couple of small bruises today in her hand without any injury. I want to know if we need to stop it. We consulted a doctor in the next couple of days but needed a second opinion on it.

What would be the effect if we stop taking Pradaxa? What is the other alternative?

Does she need to be on the blood thinner, even though she has not developed any clot yet? She was allergic to aspirin, so she could not take that.

Lab test report says that her antiphospholipid antibodies were high and as per the hematologist, she is at high risk for a clot.

What is the treatment for severe constipation and bloating?

Hello doctor,

I am a 22 year old female, and I have been experiencing major constipation from the last month. Every time I eat, I experience bloating, and I am unable to go to the toilet later on. Have tried taking Sennetabs, Metamucil, increasing fiber, and water in the diet. I have this problem approximately five days a week. I have also been getting abdominal pains, and four days ago I had a light vaginal blood discharge for two days. I am taking tablet Estelle from a very long time, I am still taking it, so this would not have been my periods. I do not have any weight issues. I also get quite a bit of walking done in my job, so I am not sitting down all day long.
