What treatment is recommended for recurring hives on thighs?

Hi doctor,

I have had hives for a month. They are recurring in my feet, left leg, underarms and face. The rash is in one or more of those places every day. My left thigh has remained inflamed and covered with hives. I have kept a photo diary. I have seen a local dermatologist who did a punch biopsy. I will attach the report here for your reference. What follow-up would you recommend? Is that due to any allergy? I have a consultation in a few weeks with a different doctor. What questions should I ask? What are rare eosinophils? What is your overall impression of the findings? Is there anything that I should concern? Can you explain the histologic findings? I do want you to know that the report has an error. The punch biopsy was taken from my left hip. My abdomen has been completely free of any hives. They also did laboratory work, which was unremarkable. Also, I have a branch duct IPMN. I am 5'6" tall and weight is approximately 150 lbs. I do not smoke or take any medications. Except for the rash, 50 mg Zyrtec three times a day and 75 mg Hydroxyzine at night. I have not changed anything in my environment. Further, I travel extensively for my job and they appear regardless of where I am. Thank you.

Is it worrying to have a freckle of 5x3 mm on the thigh?

Hi doctor,

I would like you to look at a freckle (I do not know if it is a mole) that is on my upper thigh. I have had this for many years and it is completely flat. I have not noticed any changes and I have no other symptoms. It was just the shape that I was a bit concerned about. It measures 5 mm by 3 mm.

What are the effective ways to lighten tanned skin?

Hi doctor,

My face complexion is much darker than my chest. The reason may be overexposure to sun and pollution. Please suggest me ways to get fair skin.

How to manage severely chapped lips?

Hi doctor,

I am a 27-year-old, 5 foot, and relatively an athletic female. I have been suffering from some pretty severe chapped lips. I realized this was common because of the cold weather and dry heat from the furnace, so I was treating them with a two-step process with intensive lip moistener. About a month ago, I realized my lips started to feel different. It feels like there is just a very thin layer of skin on them. They feel odd or numb when I touch them, and they are extremely chapped. After looking online, I put Aquaphor during the day and Hydrocortisone cream at night. I stopped that last week because my lips seem worse. They are not peeling at all, but they look cracked and get very dry. They also throb throughout the entire day and are swollen. Nothing has helped, and I am starting to get concerned. I worry that I possibly over-treated and burnt the first layer of skin of my lips (if that is possible). I started running around the time my lips got chapped but I have taken a week off, and nothing changed with my lips. My diet has not changed. I try to stay hydrated (I drink around 50-60 ounces per day). I am on 10 mg Adderal once daily. Please help.

What causes a smooth orange-colored patch on the finger?

Hello doctor,

I have a smooth patch on my finger, which is pale pink or orange in color. It is not painful, and it is very slightly raised, but you can only feel it raised. If you see it, it appears flat. It had appeared overnight on a previously clear area of skin and has grown a tiny amount since the three months it has been on my finger. If I examine the patch closely, it is 5 mm in size, and I can see tiny pin-sized red dots within the patch. What could this be? I have tried to find something similar online, and I cannot seem to see anything similar that is smooth like mine, it almost looks as though it is underneath the surface of my skin. I have not injured my finger at all.
