How to manage severe difficulty while passing stools?

Hello doctor,

I have a difficulty in passing stools and a clogging where the stool passes from the sigmoid colon to the rectum to execute a bowel movement. I just spent several hours of discomfort feeling constipated and as though I needed a bowel movement, only to pass a stool the size of a pea as I began to sit down. I have a big problem with getting anything to pass from the sigmoid colon to the rectum.

I have a swelling after chewing hard food. Please advice?

Hi doctor,

I get a swelling on the temple after chewing on hard food, for example, steak or candy. The swelling goes down after I stop eating, but the area feels numb for a long time after that. What can cause this? I have chronic urticaria and MGUS.

What could be done to manage an intermediate or high OM?

Hi doctor,

I had CT angiogram done and the results show intermediate or high OM, has mild pus atheroma in the ostium. I take Inderal 40 mg twice a day for palpitations and medication for anxiety. I was given a spray GTN. My blood work shows Cholesterol 6.6 mg/dL and triglycerides 1.0 mg/dL, HDL 1.0 mg/dL, LDL 5.1 mg/dL, also gamma GT at 98 U/L. The CT conclusion was mild plus proximal intermediate atheroma. I have no idea what this all means or what does OM mean. I get pain in my chest, jaw and left arm. My doctor said this could be from GERD that I suffer with. I am constantly running to the ER. Can this be fixed? I am only 40 years old. There is a strong family history of heart disease. Kindly advise.

What causes diarrhea after having certain types of meals?

Hello doctor,

Hope you are doing fine. My son consulted a doctor for diarrheal syndrome. He suffers from diarrhea after having certain types of meals and also when he drinks a glass of wine or beer. Attached to this message, you will find his recent laboratory test results. His liver values seem to be disturbed. He has digestive issues like the feeling of pressure in the belly, flatulence, gas and has undergone treatment for hayfever during the spring and summer months. What are the analysis and diagnosis? What to do next?

Is it risky to take low-dose Aspirin every day for years?

Hi doctor,

I am a 30-year-old female. I had a blood clot at 24 and have been taking a baby Aspirin every day since I came off Coumadin. I have read a lot about the long-term risks of Aspirin on the GI and the brain. I would like to come off my daily dose. Are there long-term effects with my six years of daily 81 mg of baby Aspirin? Or, if I stop taking it, does the risk of bleeding on the brain also go away? Sometimes, I would take 325 mg for short periods when traveling, but it was mostly the low-dose Aspirin. I am worried I have done some kind of damage to the vessels of my brain by taking it for so long, even if I stop now. Please help.
