Kindly suggest an alternative to Pregabalin for glossitis.

Hello doctor,

My wife is suffering from glossitis for more than a year. She has obtained partial relief with Lyrica 75 mg. She was then prescribed Pregeba NT that included another drug in combination with Pregabalin but, she could not bear the giddiness. So, she went back to Lyrica.

Can you suggest other alternatives to Pregabalin that might work without causing severe giddiness? She is willing to try anything which will relieve the inflammation and the pain.

Thanks.

What precautions are to be taken while taking Rimegepant?

Hello doctor,

I have been struggling with migraine for years, and my neurologist has suggested Rimegepant as a potential treatment. Can you provide detailed information on how it works to alleviate migraine symptoms, the expected onset of relief, and any potential side effects? Additionally, are there lifestyle adjustments or precautions I should be aware of while incorporating Rimegepant into my migraine management plan?

Thank you.

What is the treatment for severe headache?

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from severe headaches either on the right back side of the head or the center back of the head. Pain starts on the right side of the lower back. It radiates to the leg and foot (joint pain), comes up to the arm and shoulder, then goes to the other side of the body, left shoulder, and then leg and foot. It is like a pain attack that lasts for an hour or so. After that, I have muscle weakness and limb tingling, which might be the arm, leg, feet, or shoulder. I have also had,

  1. Burning pain in fingers and toes all the time.
  2. Ankles and wrists hurt most of the time.
  3. Chronic headache.
  4. Jaw cracking in the morning.
  5. Muscle stiffness and tingling feeling on legs, arms, and shoulders.
  6. Normal brain MRI, but there is a minor disc bulge on the cervical spine.

Please help.

Which is better, an MRI or a CT, to detect a bump on the right side of the head?

Hi doctor,

I have noticed a bump on the right side of my head ten months back. Sometimes on that small spot, I have a dull ache and sometimes itchiness. I have visited a family doctor a few days back, and it hurt when he touched the spot. Since then, I have had pain in that area every day, it comes and goes after some hours, and I have also experienced itchiness. Pain just on that spot but increased recently, and I do not have any prior injury. What should I do? Should I get an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or CT scan for it?

Please help.

How can idiopathic intracranial hypertension be managed?

Hi doctor,

I have been diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension. My CSF result from lumbar puncture was 12.59 inches. I have some questions about IIH. Is IIH a disease or a condition? Is a LP of 12.59 inches and above normal? Is this disease curable? I have been taking tablet Acetazolamide 1000 mg. Does 1000 mg of tablet Acetazolamide keep the optic nerves swollen or will the headaches persist? Is shunt surgery done for LP 12.59 inches? Can tablet Acetazolamide be taken in breaks (taking for two days, followed by stopping it for a day and then repeating it)? What can it do for eye papilledema and headaches? Is this method efficient? Can I feel a change or experience pain on the day when I am not taking the tablet? Can the disease cause blindness? What will happen over time? Kindly help.
