Is it normal to have periods lasting for 17 days?

Hello doctor,

My period has lasted for 17 days. I was wondering if this is something I should be concerned about or if I will be fine. I am not feeling any physical pain, nor am I on any medication. The periods started early for me and are still going on.

I have a slight fever and tired with normal EKG. Should I be concerned?

Hello doctor,

I am a 50-year-old female, overall healthy but recently having issues with tiring easily when biking and doing stairs. EKG was fine. CBC showed low WBC, low anion gap, and vitamin D deficiency. I had a low (99.4°) temperature earlier today. In light of Covid-19, and being that I work in public, should I be concerned?

I currently on Focalin and Triamcinolone acetonide.

Is Levothyroxine ineffective against Hashimoto's thyroiditis?

Hello doctor,

I have had Hashimoto's hypothyroidism for 12 years. I have been on tablet Levothyroxine the whole time. I have type 1 diabetes, retinopathy, psoriatic arthritis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and stage 3 chronic kidney disease. My current medications include NovoLog, Tresiba, Losartan, Potassium Citrate, Paxil, Atorvastatin, and Tremyfa. My TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels keep going low, and the doctor continues to drop the dose. Now my TSH level is 0.105 mIU/mL. I do not remember my thyroxine level, but it was high. Why do I feel hot, lose weight, experience anxiety, hair loss, fatigue, depression, and dry skin? Is it because Levothyroxine is not effective or has stopped working? Should I change the medication? What do you recommend?

Can a patient take an oral booster dose for typhoid instead of getting vaccinated in a clinic?

Hello doctor,

I am going on a work trip tomorrow. I was vaccinated for typhoid six years ago and was informed today that I should have taken another typhoid vaccine. I read online that you should do this two to four weeks before traveling. Should I still try to get vaccinated? If so, can I take an oral booster pill, or should I go to a clinic to get vaccinated?

Can myocardial ischemia diminish the heart's ability to function properly?

Hello doctor,

My 73-year-old father had his ECG today. The report shows PR 160, QRSD 91, QT 298, QTc 377, P axis 53, QRS 20, T 45, and heartbeat 96 BPM. He has had diabetes for 20 years and has no previous heart problems. Currently, he is using tablet Telmisartan 40 mg for blood pressure and tablet Glyciphage SR 500 mg twice daily for diabetes. Can you please explain to me his ECG report? Thank you.
