Medical Conditions - Green Tea

The leaves of Camellia sinensis are steamed at high temperatures retaining the antioxidants and polyphenols in green tea, unlike the regular tea leaves that are fermented. Caffeine in green tea is a stimulant. Consuming green tea is associated with reduced total and LDL cholesterol levels and reduces the risk of stroke. Excessive consumption may cause hepatotoxicity. It is known to increase the quality of life slightly. Although they are known to possess antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic properties, there are no evident studies supporting the same.
