This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I feel disturbed and stressed. I am not able to focus on my life goals, get emotional frequently, get fatigued, and lose interest in life. I do not know what to do. I am having feelings of failure in life and want to run away from here. Major issues related to not getting married due to societal issues. I have been feeling stressed but have never consulted a psychologist before.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You seem to be suffering from symptoms of major depression. It can be helped. During the period of illness, it can seem very difficult but with proper treatment, you can be back to your normal self. Most often it happens to certain chemical changes in the brain and treatment focuses on fixing it. I would advise you to be on a small dose of antidepressants like Escitalopram at around 10 mg which will help you a lot, start doing regular exercise or yoga, understand that it is a passing phase and good times will be back again. Make sure that you do not make any major decisions during this phase because the judgments will be mostly negative.

Thank you.
