This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My cousin is obsessed with avocadoes. She has been eating them at every meal, and adding them on everything from toast to burgers. This seems like major overload, as she is gaining weight. Could eating too many avocados actually be unhealthy for her? She's bloated and feeling sluggish. I am worried if this is a serious issue. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Avocado contains an Amino acid called tryptophan used by brain to produce Serotonin. Serotonin makes you feel. good and happy But it is high in fat too more than half serving of it daily is not recommended. Anything in excess will harm and net calorie intake will go high will make her put on more weight. Kindly tell her Half a avocado medium size is ideal recommendations in daily diet. She can land up into other metabolic disorders due to weight gain and total cholesterol also might go high as she is having with other carbs like bread and burger it's too much for one serving.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
