Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have acute pain in my left upper arm muscles when turning up. There is pinching at the front elbow bending. Recently, I also felt pinching pain in the bottom of my middle finger while bending inside or closing my handgrip. This problem has been for over two months. Kindly advise me about the cause and its remedy.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You are having a trigger finger with impingement syndrome. So you can follow some basic exercises and start with physiotherapy for a week. Do two minutes of hot water immersion by hand and one minute of cold water immersion. Repeat this for five minutes and end with warm water. Shoulder circular movement for 10 repetitions twice daily. Towel movement at the back with both hands, like rubbing your back with a towel after a bath. Do ladder exercise. Try to move your affected hand facing the wall upwards with a count of 15. Start physiotherapy consisting of TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) and mobilization for 15 days.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
